THE DESOLATE STRETCHES OF THE MIND 🌀 By GAUTAM K MIRCHANDANI 🐅
20TH
CENTURY
Two murmurs and a point
It makes a pretty good riot
Girls over here
Girls over there
It’s girls, girls, everywhere
The world of TV
The world of Videos
Who wants the damn old Radio?
Boys shouting here
Boys winking there
Boys are whistling everywhere
Where is old Santa Merry?
In the 20th Century
In its fight, in its loot
In its love, in its shoot
Days and hash rules
Presidents are just fools
Kissing is common
From Commies to the Romans
Just take your pick
Knives, guns, and bricks
Throw the hell around
Heaven to the ground
Where is old Santa Merry?
In the 20th century
In its’ dance, in its’ chance
In its play, in its’ lay
Wars and Revolution
Are today’s solutions
The sun gets hotter
Blood is cheaper than water
Liquor is for fun and gay
Let it be night or day
I say you, you say me
We tell lies as we feel
We vote nuts to power
Standing in queues for hours
Do one thing for heaven's sake
Trust no one these days.

Dear Readers,
Writing is a powerful medium that can bring
people together, allowing us to express ourselves and share our experiences
with the world.
Poetry and songwriting, in particular, can evoke
emotions we may not have known existed.
I am thrilled to present my collection of poems
and songs, “The Desolate Stretches of the Mind.” As you read through these
pages, you will be transported to different worlds, enveloped in a world of
emotions, and touched by the power of language. You will experience the joys
and sorrows of life, the beauty of nature, and the magic of love.
I hope you enjoy reading this collection and that
it brings you as much joy as it has brought to me while I was writing it.
