VALENTINE'S
DAY is the colours of Red and Love and the whole world celebrates it on the 14th
of February every year. It’s a festival day for lovers, to exchange roses,
greeting cards and gifts with each other and in some cases; you receive a
Valentine's Card from a secret admirer.
However,
my point here is do we need to display our love and care for someone only on
the 14th of February every year? And though it's a festival for lovers, if
we want, we can celebrate Valentine’s Day with those we love and care
about?
Valentine's
Day is very special as it talks about love and care, and besides your
boyfriend/girlfriend, you can also celebrate this special day of love with
someone who you love very dearly and care for, and you can even show your
kindness to a stranger, who could be so much in earnest for that love and
care.
But
how do we do this? How do we celebrate Valentine's Day 365 days?
Well,
the answer to this question is within us, if we answer these questions?
Q1.When
was the last time you did something for your grandparents, parents, siblings,
best friends or for someone totally stranger, without any conditions, just did
it because you love and care about them or on humanity grounds. Help them when
they need your help, respect them and their feelings, and give them a hug, a
greeting card and a gift without any reason.
When
was the last time you did a bit of charity for the underprivileged ones? Not to
show how big a heart you carry, but just because it is your duty as a fellow human
being towards another human being.
Mind
you, just writing a check and dropping it at one of your favourite
Charity House is great, but the greatest thing would be if, you remove some
time to drive over to your favourite Charity House and hand over the check to
the concerned person, and spend some time with the underprivileged ones, but if
you can't do it due to your busy schedule or for any other reason, then the
best thing would be to enclose a small ‘Thank You Note.’ enclosed with the
check saying, ‘That you feel thankful
towards the charity home and to your fellow human beings who are living in it,
for giving you this wonderful chance to share and receive with them the love
and kindness.’ In this way, you won't make the underprivileged ones feel
that they are depending on you, but they are part of you.
Therefore,
whenever you get a chance to hug your grandparents, parents, siblings, and
friends do it, whenever you feel to share or give to your loved one a small
token of gift, do it. Support and respect the feelings of your loved one. Sometimes gifts
do not count, but just showing how much you care for your loved ones is what
matters.
Last
but not the least!
When
was the last time you went to a Temple, Church, Mosque, or any Holy Place to
say your prayer without asking for anything, and sitting there in silence and feeling
the blessing and the presence of the Almighty One around you?
Therefore,
if Valentine's Day is a day to celebrate love then why not celebrate it 365 days
with the ones we love and care for.
